District Indigenization Coordinator

My name is Hannah, and I grew up in Banff, Alberta on the traditional lands of Treaty 7 Territory, comprised of the Stoney Nakoda Nations, the Blackfoot Confederacy, and the Tsuu’Tina Nation of the Dene people. I have British and Irish ancestry, and finished my undergraduate degree with UBC’s First Nations Studies Program in 2016, focusing on Aboriginal Education in B.C. Since completion of my undergrad, I have finished the West Kootenay Teacher Education Program in July 2019 and am excited and honoured to be joining SD8 Aboriginal Education team this year as a District Indigenization Coordinator. In my spare time, I enjoy backcountry skiing and hiking with my dog Banjo, and in the summer I work for local music festivals as a Volunteer Coordinator.  I am looking forward to learning and growing during this upcoming year!
