Check Out the Awesome! - Good Morning Messages from Erickson Elementary School
Good morning! Each new day is a gift and an opportunity to pause, reflect, and give thanks for the many blessings in our lives.
As part of learning about Indigenous perspectives on gratitude and giving thanks, Mrs. Lavallee’s Grade 4/5 class here at Erickson Elementary created their own thoughtful good morning messages. These messages reflect the importance of starting each day with kindness, appreciation, and a grateful heart.
In many Indigenous cultures, gratitude is deeply connected to relationships with the land, water, plants, animals, community, and all living things. Giving thanks reminds us that we are interconnected and that we each have a responsibility to care for one another and the world around us. While teachings and traditions differ among Indigenous Nations, gratitude is an important value in many communities.
Through this activity, students had an opportunity to think about what it means to begin the day positively and how a few meaningful words can brighten someone’s morning. Their messages encourage us to appreciate the little things, show kindness, respect others, and recognize the gifts that each new day brings.
We are excited to share some of the students’ thoughtful creations with you! I have included a few of their good morning messages below for you to check out. As you read them, take a moment to reflect on what you are thankful for and how you can share that gratitude with others.
May we all begin our days with open hearts, thoughtful words, and a commitment to walking in a good way.
Good morning, and let gratitude guide your day!
