Coming Together on the Land

WE Graham Community School is surrounded by many beautiful places to learn.  It is only a short walk from the t̓ik̓ʷt (lake) and the saʔtitkʷ (river).  This fall classes have been spending more time connecting with the tm̓xʷúlaʔxʷ  (land) and each other in a place the community calls the Owl Walk or the Outdoor classroom.  Guided by Elder Mama Tea, students have come together to have fires, cook for each other, harvest medicine, and listen to the river and the trees.  This learning on the land has also included circles where students have the opportunity to listen and be heard while they share their gifts and their challenges.
